According to a number of sources, the Vegas based Wynn Resorts is in the process of entering into a strategic partnership with the social gaming developer, Zynga Gaming. By joining up with Zynga, Wynn Resorts will be able to access Zynga’s customer base which numbers millions of players, and which continues to grow as the popularity of social networking sites such as Facebook grows.
A partnership deal with Zynga will see Wynn benefit from over 230 million average monthly active users who originate from over 160 countries around the world.
Recently, Zynga’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Pincus confirmed that the group was specifically eying the online gambling market, saying that he saw incredible opportunities for his group on this platform. Calling the amount of innovation seen in the online gambling industry “mind blowing”, Pincus said that the group was in talks with multiple companies, including Wynn Resorts. He predicted that before the end of this year, the industry would see land based gambling companies “figure out their go-to-market partnerships”.
With over 20 states considering the legalization of online gambling on an intra-state level, it is only natural that land based companies which are well established in local markets will seek to enter this new sphere. Online gambling groups, too, come with their own expertise and are eager to partner with reputable land gaming sites in order to enter newly regulated state markets. As such, a partnership between Wynn Resorts and Zynga Gaming makes a lot of sense and could see both entities benefit greatly.
Zynga Inc. offers multiple online games, including CityVille, Zynga Poker, FarmVille, Words with Friends and lots more.
