New studies by the respected research group, Juniper Research, shows that the growth of mobile gambling is not letting up, and the industry can expect to see even more growth in the coming five years at least.  According to the research, mobile gambling will continue to boom through to 2017, parallel to the growth of online casinos and lotteries around the globe.

Currently, the mobile gambling market is worth $13 billion a year, and Juniper Research said that in a few short years, by 2017, the market will be worth $100 billion at least.  Within five years, according to the report, mobile betting via sports betting groups will grow to $45 billion.  This means that it will become the biggest segment within the entire realm of betting services which make up mobile gambling.

A quick look at some of the leading sports book groups in the industry shows the incredible growth that is already happening before our eyes.  Bookmakers such as William Hill, Ladbrokes and the Irish sports betting giant, Paddy Power have all seen a huge 40% growth in the number of online customers placing bets from their mobile devices.  Juniper Research revealed that on the three mentioned sports book sites, 20% of all bets placed were via their mobile platforms – a significant increase from several years ago.

A number of other sites are also moving towards improving their own platforms so that they can keep up with competition and stay in the game as mobile gambling’s growth reaches exceptional proportions.  Sites such as All Slots Mobile, for example, launched a new HTML5 platform for Apple iOS recently, while Bet365 Mobile and William Hill Mobile are also in the process of introducing updates.
