The owner of the Entraction Poker Network, International Game Technology, has confirmed that the network will be closed down by the end of the year. Entraction’s liquidity has decreased significantly in the past year, despite the fact that IGT paid over $115 million for the company. The 50 or so poker rooms which currently call the Entraction Poker Network home now have until December 11th to shop around for a new network, it was announced.

Some of the online poker skins have already informed their customers via email that they will be moving to a new network once the Entraction Network closes. Many, such as 24hPoker and iGame, are expected to move to the Microgaming Poker Network.

In a statement, IGT said that as part of its regular business process, the company has been evaluating its resources, products and markets from a commercial and compliance perspective. As a result, said the group, it was consolidating its product development, allowing the group to combine a number of locations and to focus on the most attractive opportunities.

IGT remains focused on its interactive casino/slot offering, which continues to show steady growth. In addition, strong emphasis is being placed on IGT’s successful social gaming offering through DoubleDown Casino. Efforts are being made to integrate the Entraction products into IGT’s overall set of platform offerings.
