Paddy Power Introduces TV Remote Gambling AppPaddy Power, the Irish based sports betting and online gambling powerhouse, has introduced a new application which allows players to place their bets from the comfort of their TV chairs. The Paddy Power Smart TV Application, which was developed together with the digital media solution provider, Miomni, will allow players to place bets in real time using their television remote control. The application will also allow players to deposit funds and view their account details and wagering history. The sports betting group will update the odds in real time as well so that players have access to the very latest sports action.

Paddy Power announced that, for now, the application is available for players in the United Kingdom and Ireland, via Yahoo Smart TV Widget on a number of TVs (Samsung, LG, etc.).

In the future, players will also be able to place bets on a wider range of sports, according to the group, such as horse racing, cricket, tennis and basketball. They will also be able to wager on current events, political outcomes and novelty bets.

The online product and business development manager for Paddy Power, Stephen Lovell, said that the group has created a close working relationship with the digital media firm, Miomni, which has enabled Paddy Power to produce one of the most comprehensive Smart TV applications for sports wagering available on the market.

Lovell explained that Miomni had delivered at all levels of Paddy Power’s tough requirements on this project, and fit the budget and deadlines. Lovell said that the strong relationship enjoyed with Miomni, as well as the technical foundation that the Irish group brings into the partnership, will enable Paddy Power to launch exceptional digital services this year and in the future.
